Viking - Sigurd Saga
Viking T-Shirt - Sigurd Saga
Original Art - Hand Screen Printed T-shirt
This Tshirt design is a collaboration with Miriam’s brother (the guy on the pictures) who is a medieval reenactor and great fan of Nordic culture.
The artwork is drawn by Ken and is based on medieval wood carvings which were originally part of a 12th century Norwegian church doorway (Hylestad Stave Church) and are now exhibited in the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo.
These wooden panels are a bit like a Viking Comic, telling the legend of Sigurd (the guy who slayed the dragon) in beautifully carved scenes. These stories are part of the Edda.
Here the wiki link with pictures and explanation of the original carvings
